What to do with the food while we repair it

What temperature should a domestic freezer run at?

Why is it frosting up if it's a frost free model?
Either the defrost system has stopped working (heater, thermal fuse or sensor) or the door seal is letting humid air in from outside. Both are repaired at your home on the same visit.
My freezer is in the garage and stops freezing in winter — is it broken?
Probably not. Many models have a climate class that doesn't permit operation below a certain ambient temperature. We check this on the visit and tell you whether you need a garage-rated model rather than a repair.
Can I refreeze food that has thawed?
It isn't advisable. Once food has thawed, refreezing degrades the texture and multiplies the microbiological risk. Use it quickly or throw it away.
