Oven repair in Barcelona
We repair built-in electric ovens, fan ovens, multifunction and pyrolytic models across Barcelona and the metropolitan area. Ovens offer one of the best repair-to-price ratios of any appliance: most faults come down to one specific part, and the oven then runs like new for years.
Quick answer
When an oven stops heating, the cause is usually an element (top, bottom or grill), the thermostat, the temperature sensor or a relay on the control board. We repair electric, fan and pyrolytic ovens at your home in Barcelona within 24–48 hours, with a fixed price and a written warranty.
Common faults and what we check
| Symptom | Likely cause | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| No heat at all | Failed element, tripped safety thermostat, or a burnt-out relay on the board. | We test continuity on each element separately and check the safety thermostat and relays before replacing anything. |
| Heats from the top only, or the bottom only | One element has failed, or the function selector has burnt contacts. | We identify which element has gone and check the function switch. |
| Switches itself off part way through cooking | Safety thermostat tripping from poor ventilation, or a drifted temperature sensor. | We check the cooling fan, clear the air outlets and verify the sensor. |
| Actual temperature doesn't match the setting | An aged NTC sensor, or a mechanical thermostat out of calibration. | We measure the real cavity temperature with a reference thermometer and replace the sensor or thermostat depending on the drift. |
| The door won't close properly or has dropped | Worn hinges or broken springs; a hardened cavity seal. | We replace the hinges as a pair along with the perimeter seal. |
| The display is dead or showing a fault code | Dry joints on the control board, or a worn-out membrane keypad. | We read the code, weigh up board repair against replacement, and give you both prices. |

Pyrolytic ovens: the most common failure
A pyrolytic cycle takes the cavity above 450°C to reduce grease to ash. It's a demanding cycle that puts the door seal, the cooling fan and the electronics under real thermal stress. The classic fault is the oven locking the door and then hanging mid-cycle, usually because of the safety thermostat, the door lock motor or the tangential cooling fan.
One practical tip: don't run a pyrolytic cycle when the oven is heavily soiled with liquid grease. Wipe out the worst of it first, or you'll generate smoke and strain the cycle for no reason.
When the fault isn't the oven but the wiring
A built-in electric oven draws roughly 2,000 to 3,500 W. If your oven trips the RCD, kills the power when preheating or runs intermittently, in a fair number of cases the problem is in the electrical installation: undersized cable, an overheated connection block, or a breaker shared with other heavy loads.
We check this by measuring actual current draw and inspecting the connection. If the installation is the problem, we'll say so plainly: changing oven parts wouldn't fix it.
Oven brands we repair
Balay, Bosch, Siemens, Teka, Fagor, AEG, Electrolux, Zanussi, Whirlpool, Candy, Smeg, Beko, Neff and Cata among others, subject to parts availability. Have the rating plate to hand when you call — it's usually on the side of the frame, visible when the door is open.

Frequently asked questions
Is it worth repairing an oven or replacing it?
The oven is one of the appliances where repair makes most sense, because faults tend to involve a single specific part (element, thermostat, hinges) and the remaining service life is long. We only advise against it when the control board fails on an already old oven and the part is expensive.
Will you have to take the kitchen units apart?
For built-in ovens we slide the appliance out of its housing to reach the back, then refit it. The units don't need dismantling: the oven is held in by four screws in the front frame.
Do you repair pyrolytic ovens?
Yes, including the faults specific to pyrolysis: door locking, safety thermostat, tangential fan and cycles that fail to complete.
My oven doesn't reach the temperature I set — can it be fixed?
Yes. It's usually the temperature sensor or the thermostat, both of which drift over the years. We measure the real cavity temperature with a reference thermometer and replace whichever part is responsible.
Do you work on gas ovens?
We repair electric ovens, which make up virtually the whole domestic market in Barcelona. For gas cookers and hobs, see our gas hob and cooker repair page.
How long does the repair take?
Most are completed in a single visit of 45 to 90 minutes, because we carry the most common elements, thermostats and hinges in the van.
